Monday Morning Inspiration
Irena Sendler 1910-2008.
She eventually was caught, and the Nazis broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunited some of the families. Most had been killed. She helped those children get placement into foster family homes or adopted.
Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected.
Al Gore won- for a slide show on Global Warming.

I Am So Sorry....
I have to apologise for what I am about to do. I must introduce you to a site that will literally suck up hours of your time. It's called Damn You Auto Correct.
As anyone with a "Smart" Phone knows, they are evil and will change your texts to be as embarrassing as possible. This site has some truly awesome ones.
If you are easily offended by language (no-no words), don't go.
If not, go pee, then enjoy.......

What's for Lunch?
I was surfing/looking for new quick and easy recipes and came upon this bit of awesome.
It's called Pepperoni Roll Ups. You can access the original page (here), scroll down to the area. It's super fast, cheap, and good. All you need are Crescent Rolls, Pepperoni, String Cheese, and either Ranch or Marinara Sauce for dipping.
Separate the crescent rolls into triangles. Place 4-5 pepperonis on each triangle and top with half a string cheese. Roll up and bring up sides to seal. Bake according to the Crescent Roll packaging and enjoy.

Disney Replacement Program
I just found out that Disney has a replacement program for their broken/damaged DVDs and Blue Ray Discs.
All the information is located on the Disney site (here). There is a small replacement cost, $6.95 for per DVD and $8.95 for per Blu-ray disc. But, hey, that's still cheaper than buying new ones.

My Brain
Memories.
I love taking pictures. Capturing a moment in time is like magic.
These are from a recent trip to Myrtle Beach.
My Brain is also very important as I get older. I find that I can't remember things like I used to. I used to fight this, stubbornly arguing with my husband that....
"No, you did not tell me to pick up the kids".
Whatever, they all made it home eventually.

Anyway, about 5 years ago, I began to carry a book to write down everything. I call it my brain. This is my current version......I got the idea at Dollar Store Crafts.

I'm a Hooker!
Self-Improvement.
So, I decided to learn to crochet. I figured it will prepare me for my future in the Nursing Home. So in my surfing around I found Maybe Matilda.
She was teaching step by step how to make a cowl. Awesome timing. Anyway, I purchased a crap-load of yarn (yes, that is a unit of measurement), and began to crochet. I have been very pleased with the results.
Since I completed the cowl, I have done 2 headbands (with patterns purchased from Maybe Matildas Etsy site). I had to give both away however. Apparently I have some sort of head dysmorphic disorder and think my head is much larger than it is. Luckily, I have big-headed friends.
My ultimate crochet goal at this time is to make a Cunning Hat for my husband.
We LOVE firefly. If you have never seen it, stop reading this immediately and go find it on Netfilx. You will not regret it.
/sigh. yep....Firefly is great.

Welcome to Me!
Hello and welcome to my life. I am an over-49 year old woman, living with my husband and 3 sons. I invite you to join me on a journey of self discovery and growth. I will try new things, like maybe losing some weight. And greet each day as an adventure. I will try to (sometimes) overcome my sarcasm and attitude to enjoy the next 50 years of my life. On second thought, no I won't.
