What do you mean I'm fat?

I haven't been on here in awhile, but as part of my new journey I thought I would share this with all of you. Yes, both of you. It has come to my attention that I am fat. I don't know when or how it happened (well, I have a suspicion). But there it is. No more pretending.

I have suspected it from time to time. Usually while trying to fit into a size 6 shirt and needing the jaws of life to extricate me from it. But at this point in my life I had kinda accepted that I like burgers and fries and that's just the way it is.

Then, money became involved. My company (who shall remain nameless), decided that I am fat. By their definition, that means my BMI is over 27. Now, as far as I am concerned that doesn't mean I am over weight, I am simply under tall. If I were 6'2", my BMI would in fact be-27. Anyway, short of getting them to approve a way to stretch me 14.5 inches. I have to lose weight. If I do not lose 5% of the weight I was when I weighed in for my last evaluation, I will need to pay and extra $250.00 this year for my insurance. What they did not want to hear however, was that I had gained an additional 10 pounds since my last weigh in. Ouch.

So begins my newest journey to save money, I mean to lose weight. Come with me....

This is a fairly recent picture of me, taken at the beach (Myrtle). I am standing on front of the area where I had released some of my mother's ashes (don't EVER do that at high tide by the way, just sayin).

So, this is what I am starting with. 210 pounds at 4'11 1/2 ". BMI: 41.7.

Weight Watchers Again?

Now my next step is to choose just the right program to help me lose the weight. Because I know myself well enough to know I am NOT gonna do it on my own. I have tried Weight Watchers and I know it works. I know this because it worked 4 times. I just kept losing the same 5 pounds. /sigh.

I have also tried Atkins and almost died from lack of carbs. Seriously, It's a thing. Google it.

I once went to a specialty pharmacy and met with a doctor (?) who put me on a 500 calorie diet along with some drops that someone named Jerry mixed up. I don't know exactly what is was but it tasted like something I'd rather not mention. That diet lasted less than a week.

One of my co-workers introduced me to Metabolic Research Center. (I am not now or have ever been an employee of this company). She has lost 40+ pounds on the program. So I made my appointment. With whatever program I selected, I want this to be about the journey of the weight loss and not a review of the program. Most programs work, IF you do them correctly. In preparation for my appointment, I will cut down on junk, drink more water and start walking.

Monday Morning Inspiration

Irena Sendler 1910-2008.

A 98 year-old German woman named Irena Sendler recently died. During WWII, Irena worked in the Warsaw Ghetto as a plumbing/sewer specialist. Irena smuggled Jewish children out; infants in the bottom of the tool box she carried and older children in a burlap sack she carried in the back of her truck. Irena managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children.

She eventually was caught, and the Nazis broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunited some of the families. Most had been killed. She helped those children get placement into foster family homes or adopted.

Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected.
Al Gore won- for a slide show on Global Warming.

Faith

(Ok, tempted to get this one)

I Am So Sorry....

I have to apologise for what I am about to do. I must introduce you to a site that will literally suck up hours of your time. It's called Damn You Auto Correct.

As anyone with a "Smart" Phone knows, they are evil and will change your texts to be as embarrassing as possible. This site has some truly awesome ones.

If you are easily offended by language (no-no words), don't go.
If not,  go pee, then enjoy.......

What's for Lunch?

I was surfing/looking for new quick and easy recipes and came upon this bit of awesome.

It's called Pepperoni Roll Ups. You can access the original page (here), scroll down to the area. It's super fast, cheap, and good. All you need are Crescent Rolls, Pepperoni, String Cheese, and either Ranch or Marinara Sauce for dipping.

Separate the crescent rolls into triangles. Place 4-5 pepperonis on each triangle and top with half a string cheese. Roll up and bring up sides to seal. Bake according to the Crescent Roll packaging and enjoy.
