Monday Morning Inspiration

Irena Sendler 1910-2008.

A 98 year-old German woman named Irena Sendler recently died. During WWII, Irena worked in the Warsaw Ghetto as a plumbing/sewer specialist. Irena smuggled Jewish children out; infants in the bottom of the tool box she carried and older children in a burlap sack she carried in the back of her truck. Irena managed to smuggle out and save 2500 children.

She eventually was caught, and the Nazis broke both her legs, arms and beat her severely.

Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out and kept them in a glass jar buried under a tree in her backyard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and reunited some of the families. Most had been killed. She helped those children get placement into foster family homes or adopted.

Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize. She was not selected.
Al Gore won- for a slide show on Global Warming.

Faith

(Ok, tempted to get this one)

I Am So Sorry....

I have to apologise for what I am about to do. I must introduce you to a site that will literally suck up hours of your time. It's called Damn You Auto Correct.

As anyone with a "Smart" Phone knows, they are evil and will change your texts to be as embarrassing as possible. This site has some truly awesome ones.

If you are easily offended by language (no-no words), don't go.
If not,  go pee, then enjoy.......

What's for Lunch?

I was surfing/looking for new quick and easy recipes and came upon this bit of awesome.

It's called Pepperoni Roll Ups. You can access the original page (here), scroll down to the area. It's super fast, cheap, and good. All you need are Crescent Rolls, Pepperoni, String Cheese, and either Ranch or Marinara Sauce for dipping.

Separate the crescent rolls into triangles. Place 4-5 pepperonis on each triangle and top with half a string cheese. Roll up and bring up sides to seal. Bake according to the Crescent Roll packaging and enjoy.

Disney Replacement Program

I just found out that Disney has a replacement program for their broken/damaged DVDs and Blue Ray Discs.
All the information is located on the Disney site (here). There is a small replacement cost, $6.95 for per DVD and $8.95 for per Blu-ray disc. But, hey, that's still cheaper than buying new ones.
